Batiks are created using a wax and dye technique, it differs somewhat from the traditional technique where dyes are painted directly onto the fabric. Our method uses colored waxes which are then put through a dye-bath and ironed out resulting in an unique effect. Some pieces are also detailed with water-proof ink. Batiks are all done individually and are one of a kind pieces of artwork all designed by Three Cats Graphics. They are left unfinished. They can be used for wall hangings or framed and can be fashioned into pillows or incorporated into quilts. We do not recommend incorporating them into garments. Measurements allow for a framing border or seam allowances, measurements are somewhat variable depending on how the piece is finished. As with any piece of art, we do not recommend displaying batiks in direct sunlight. New batiks will be added to the site on a regular basis. Each piece is signed & dated by the artist.
